In September 2005, the Department for Theatre Studies was proud to announce the publication of the "Theaterlexikon der Schweiz", the first comprehensive encyclopaedia about Swiss theatre. 10 years in the making, it features over 3600 articles in all four Swiss languages (German, French, Italian and Romansh).

• Humanitas and civilisation in the Italian improvisation comedy.
• STEP – Project on European Theatre Systems; in collaboration with various other institutes throughout Europe.

The results of our research are being published in two book series. Theatrum Helveticum concentrates on the history of Swiss theatre. Materialien des ITW Bern document our research results for further studies.
